This video explains what I just said in a much better wayĮveryone here is confused. And my mixes are loud af and super well balanced. When I'm done with the mix I put my master back up and slap a limiter on. If I start going over 0 db and hear my converters clip then I pull my master fader down. In fact I only mix with my faders riding 0 db so I know exactly how my mix is gonna sound when it hits the speakers. ![]() So in other words it's perfectly fine to clip your signal. It's super important to know that the only reason for digital clipping is that your converter can't handle it, not ur daw. Once the signal leaves the daw and hits your converter u will hear digital clipping. U can seriously go over 0 db all day long AS LONG AS U STAY IN THE DIGITAL DOMAIN. It's not possible with 32 bits of headroom. It's super frustrating and one of the reasons why this sub Reddit even exists. Nobody on this sub Reddit really understands what clipping is or where it takes place. ![]()
